Joan E. Souders, 91 of Toledo, and formerly of Oregon, OH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Born December 13, 1925, in Bluffton, IN, she was the daughter of Harold and Josephine (Beeler) Witzeman. She married Robert Souders on May 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2005. Joan was a secretary for Toledo Public Schools. She attended Bethany Community Fellowship in Sylvania, OH and was a former a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she had played the organ for over 20 years. She enjoyed crafts, painting and playing the piano.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Judy (Al) Schumaker, Barb (Jerry) Weigel and Carol (David) Ewers; sister, Dorothy Springer; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Joan was also preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Witzeman.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, February 3, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
